If you have gaps from missing teeth, then a permanent or removable dental bridge procedure from the KoP center can fix it. This procedure can prevent the remaining teeth from rotating or shifting and causing spacing problems. A dental bridge dentist can repair and replace missing teeth, giving you a new smile. With over 40+ years of experience, our local general dentistry services are here to help you restore a natural look to your smile.

But what exactly is the bridge dental work, and what does the procedure involve? Do not worry. We have all the explanations you need, so read on.

What Is a Dental Bridge and Why Do You Need It?

A removable or fixed dental bridge will replace missing teeth. It consists of crowns applied over natural teeth adjacent to the gap and artificial teeth that bridge this gap – hence the name of the procedure.

We will reshape the adjacent teeth so the crowns can be added, then take impressions for the bridge and give you a temporary crown. Once the new crown has been fabricated, you will return for the dental bridge fitting. Finally, we’ll cement the composite or porcelain dental bridge in place.

Congratulations! You now have a new smile! What is more, you can choose from various dental bridge types:

Removable Dental Bridge

Not everyone has the need and budget for a permanent dental bridge. A simpler and more affordable dental bridge is the removable type. This means that you can put it on and take it out whenever you want. This type of bridge requires more careful dental care – especially when it comes to brushing your teeth and sanitizing the removable dental bridge.

Fixed Dental Bridge

A fixed dental bridge (permanent is another term used for this dental work) will be cemented in place, and you will wear it 24/7. Soon enough, you will even forget that you do not have all your natural teeth.

You Can Choose Between Different Types of Dental Bridges

New bridge dental work is also classified depending on the technique the dentist uses. Thus, you can choose a front dental bridge from the following list:

Traditional Dental Bridge

This is the most common partial dental bridge used to repair a missing tooth. It uses one or more pontics for tooth replacement services and shapes the surrounding teeth (removable dental bridges are also available).

Maryland Dental Bridge

A Maryland bridge attaches a framework on the back of the tooth, so adjacent teeth don’t have to be altered. This is extremely useful if you will need dental bridge replacement in the future and need to preserve your natural teeth in good condition.

Cantilever Dental Bridge

A cantilever bridge is used when a patient has only one tooth that can provide support.

Implant-Supported Dental Bridge

If you have more than three teeth in a row missing, the bridge replacement dental specialist will have to install an implant and use it as support for the bridge. This is the only way of making sure that the dental bridge for the front teeth remains in place and that you can confidently use it for eating.

The Dental Bridge Procedure Is Safe and Painless

An experienced dental bridge dentist will start the procedure by giving you a local anesthesia injection. You will not feel any pain while the dentist is working on your natural teeth or applying an implant bridge.

Next, the dentist will reshape the teeth used to support the bridge. Afterward, they will take dental impressions and send them to a lab to create your custom bridge.

You will receive a temporary dental bridge while the lab is working on the final piece. Finally, when it is ready, the dentist will call you to apply your permanent dental bridge.

What Is the Average Dental Bridge Cost?

The dental bridge price depends on various factors, such as:

  • Extra procedure: Like root canal care or fillings for nearby teeth.
  • Technique: A dentist may have artistic designs for this service.
  • Material: Bridges are available in many materials.
  • Tooth preparation: There are various teeth preparation techniques.

Our specialists will quote the dental bridge cost upfront so you know exactly how much you have to pay. We also take select insurance types, so let us know about your policy during the initial appointment.

Benefits You Can Expect from a Dental Bridge Procedure

  1. Comfort. A fixed dental bridge for one tooth will allow you to bite, eat, and speak more easily.
  2. Health. A missing tooth can cause many problems to the surrounding teeth, like periodontitis, cavities, and further tooth loss.
  3. Confidence. A front dental bridge boosts self-confidence by filling that unsightly gap in your teeth, allowing you to smile without feeling insecure.

I have severe anxiety from a dental experience in the military and have had panic attacks in a dental office so bad that I’ve passed out. I am so very thankful that I found this practice!! The dental assistants are AMAZING and the dentists are PHENOMENAL! I have never felt so comfortable in a dentist office as I am here. They are so compassionate, caring and understanding.I’ve been to other practices where they have no regard for your comfort and could care less about your anxiety over dental work. I had one dentist at another practice literally shove a tool into a cavity on a tooth that I was already feeling pain in, this was after I politely asked that he just not touch that tooth without it being numbed first. He actually yelled at me that he couldn’t “treat” me unless he could feel how deep the cavity was. It sent a ridiculous pain right through my jaw and I literally got up and said no f’ing way I’m staying here. I ended up at KOP for that tooth and the experience was night and day different.I have had both Dr. Soffin and Dr. Pickel and they are the best. They are very cognizant of your comfort, pain level and the work they do is excellent. Both are super nice gentlemen. It is very relieving knowing that I can finally get the dental treatments I need without having the anxiety that I used to.

Highly highly recommend. Came in this morning for a root canal. Novocain does not work for me and I cannot tolerate nitrous oxide. To say I was anxious would be an understatement. Highly highly recommend. Came in this morning for a root canal. Novocain does not work for me and I cannot tolerate nitrous oxide. To say I was anxious would be an understatement. Dr Soffin really took his time with me to do some troubleshooting before ultimately deciding a root canal wasn't the way to go (thank god). He really took his time to explain everything to me in a way I could understand. He called in Dr Rapine for a second opinion and not only did he agree with Dr Soffin, he also offered some new insights. You can tell these guys are pros at what they do. I felt cared for and listened to. Shout out to Jo Ann, the dental assistant who I can only describe as the 'emotional support lady' I needed. You guys were awesome!

Friendly staff and great service. Unlike most dental offices you are treated like a person and not as a number to hit revenue goals. Will recommend this office to anyone
